By T. Christian
I had to return these after having them for less than a week. Everything about the boot was fairly good, but the thing that ruined it for me was the soul. It actually started coming apart. I used it a lot less rigorously than I do my New Balance hiking boots or even running shoes here in Afghanistan. After just a few days of trekking in the snow, I noticed the bottom of the soul was becoming completely unglued. Also, they don't really work any better on ice or snow than any normal hiking boot as far as traction goes. The plus side was that regardless of the temperature outside, my feet and toes were always a constant temperature and remained dry. The size thing subtracted a star as well. I took the advise of other reviews and order a half size up. Unfortunately there is no 4E wide size. It took a few days for my feet to get used to it, but they were still really tight with thin socks on. Get the sizing right and fix the broken soul and it would be an awesome boot.

By Susan Andrews
I have many pairs of Keens and always appreciate the quality and comfort of this brand. However this particular boot runs short. Typically I wear size 6.5 so ordered half size up for allowance of thicker socks with these sturdy winter boots. But no spare room to be found even when sizing up. So will need to exchange for full size up. Other than this the boot is surely a good purchase.

By porkister
Out of box comfortable, as long as you don't overtighten the laces up to the ankle. I wear 8w in clarks unstructured, 8-8.5 for other Keens (Presidio for instance, which is off the market now for men), but for this one I had to get a 9 and it fits snug with not-so-thick socks. So make sure you go up on the size, otherwise you may need to return them as I had to.
Also, Keens usually run wide. Guess what? Not this one, but may soften and give a bit in time. The color on this website is not true to the original, see keenfootwear.com for the real color, at least for Shitake/apricot combo.
The sole is fairly rigid but the insulation is quite good, tried them in -20°C shoveling snow and had no issues. Decent grip on ice.
One thing that I cannot comment on is how long they last; usually I destroy the soles much earlier than the leather. I hope this rugged sole will last longer than others.
